Workshop: Climbing Biocultural Heritage Territories as Agrobiodiversity Zones

This meeting was not a conventional workshop, but rather a exchange of knowledge: a meeting point to weave knowledge and strengthen alliances. Over three days, we immersed ourselves in a deep and practical dialogue on how Biocultural Heritage Territories (TPBC), formalized as Agrobiodiversity Zones (ZABD), are at the forefront of rights-based conservation and food sovereignty in the Andes. Inspired by the journey of the Potato Park, our goal was to co-create a roadmap so that more communities can protect their landscapes, culture, and ways of life. Each session was designed to be a space for mutual learning, where community experience takes center stage and dialogue with academics and policymakers serves as a bridge to action.
