Cesar Argumedo - Director of ANDES
César is one of the founders of ANDES. Previously, he worked in the Appropriate Technology Programs of Swiss Cooperation, and was also the Peruvian representative for Cultural Survival – Canada. He graduated as a Zootechnical Engineer from the National University of San Antonio Abad in Cusco.
Tammy Stenner - Director of Yachay Kuychi Pluriversity
Tammy has worked in research, project coordination, and administrative support since 1995. She also works in adult education and international development studies in Canada.
Alejandro Argumedo - President of the Board of Directors
Alejandro is one of the founders of ANDES. He currently works as a project manager in South America for the SWIFT Foundation, USA.
Carolina - Financial Advisor
Professional with more than 24 years of experience and proven skills in the administration and accounting of non-governmental organizations and international cooperation. Throughout these years, she has worked with organizations, foundations, and institutions at the national and international level that address social and humanitarian issues, especially on environmental issues from local and international communities. Born in the city of Cusco, Peru, she completed her high school and university studies in the same city. In 1998, she graduated from the University of San Antonio Abad del Cusco (UNSAAC), Faculty of Accounting and Financial Sciences. She later completed her studies at the Graduate School of the Andean University of Cusco, earning a master’s degree in Auditing and Internal Control.
Gustavo Castillo - Administrator
Gustavo has an MBA in Business Administration and more than 25 years of experience in the field of international cooperation. Throughout his professional career, he has held positions as Administrator and Administrative and Financial Director, assuming responsibilities in the strategic, financial, and operational management of organizations.

Jhon Edison Ccoyo Ccana - Administrator of the Potato Park
Jhon was born in the community of Amaru in the Potato Park. He has worked with ANDES since 2018.
Patricia Rojas - Administrative Assistant
Supports with basic accounting and office supply management, such as organizing schedules, personnel management, document filing, and logistics support.
Arascely Heredia - Specialist in communications technology
Arascely has worked with ANDES for 24 years as a communications specialist. She studied Computation at the Instituto Tecnológico KHIPU and systems engineering at the Universidad Andina del Cusco.
Enrique Granados - Logistics and audiovisual technician coordinator
Enrique has been working at ANDES since 2002 in the areas of logistics, film production, and digital media editing. He is currently an environmental engineer and specialist in geographic information systems (GIS). Through his profession, he contributes to research on climate change and the sustainable development of natural resources in high Andean and Amazonian communities.
Hernan Mormontoy - Projects Coordinator
Agronomist with more than 40 years of professional experience, holding various positions in public and private entities. As an FAO consultant, He has worked on topics related to food security, agricultural production systems, and indigenous peoples. Hernán has also been an independent consultant for areas such as agrobiodiversity management, high Andean ecosystem rehabilitation, and biocultural territories. He is considered an expert in project monitoring and evaluation, environmental and social risk management, communal forestry development, methodologies, and tools for capacity building in high Andean areas.
Jessica Villacorta Villacorta - Agronomist
Jessica graduated from the Universidad Nacional San Antonio Abad de Cusco as an agronomist. She began working with ANDES in March of 2015 on the Smallholder Innovation for Resilience (SIFOR) project, which focused on climate change research, native potato conservation, and participatory plant breeding in farmer field schools. Jessica supports all field activities related to crop conservation.
Ricardo Pacco Chipa - Local Coordinator
Ricardo is a leader from the Quechua community of Paru Paru, one of the communities that make up the Potato Park. He began working with ANDES in 2002 as a local expert in his community and has been an active participant in indigenous networks. Currently, he works as the coordinator for the Parque Chalakuy in Lares, supporting the implementation of all field activities and acting as the main point of contact between the communities and ANDES.
E. Marina Chavez Puma - Agronomist
Marina graduated from the National University of San Antonio Abad in Cusco as an agricultural engineer. He began working with ANDES in April 2024, as head of the office in Lares, collaborating with Chalakuy Park.
Esmeralda Torres Martinez - Researcher and Coordinator for the Arramat T1 Project
Esmeralda is Afro-Boricua from the Taíno-Arawak nation of Puerto Rico. She has been working in environmental research for more than 8 years and, in recent years, has dedicated herself to interdisciplinary research in the natural sciences, anthropology, and traditional indigenous knowledge to address climate change. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences and a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of Puerto Rico. She also completed a master’s degree in Climate Change and Global Sustainability from the School for International Training, where she explored the intersection between Quechua weavers and climate adaptation.
Emily Sours - Project Manager and Researcher, Green Colonialism
Emily works at the intersection of gender equality, climate justice, and sustainable development, with a focus on uplifting Indigenous knowledge in biodiversity conservation and climate adaptation. She has experience in international development, research, and advocacy for women, girls, LGBTQIA+ communities, and Indigenous Peoples. As Project Manager and Researcher of the Confronting Green Colonialism Project at ANDES, she coordinates collaborative research and cross-cultural partnerships to advance inclusive, Indigenous-led initiatives worldwide.
